Be their guiding light

As a mentor in the SheGrows Scholarship Program, you will play a pivotal role in supporting first-generation and financially challenged students, guiding them not only through their medical education but also towards building successful, fulfilling careers in the medical field.

By mentoring your scholar through the challenges of college life and beyond, you will help advance diversity, equity, and inclusion within both educational and professional spaces. Your guidance will empower students to navigate the complexities of their academic journey and overcome personal and social barriers, allowing them to thrive despite the hurdles they may face.

Mentoring provides you with a unique opportunity to walk in the shoes of a first-generation medical student, gaining insight into the micro-barriers that often go unnoticed but can hinder academic and professional progress. From managing the pressures of medical school to navigating the challenges of life outside the classroom, you will witness firsthand the resilience, determination, and potential of these exceptional students.

Our scholars are bright, driven, and compassionate individuals, each with their own unique story. Through this mentorship, you’ll find that the inspiration flows both ways—your scholar will look up to you for guidance and encouragement, and you will be equally inspired by their unwavering dedication and perseverance in the face of adversity.
